The Duramax Diesel 6600 V8 engine has been designed to satisfy the heavy-duty customer's need for power, durability, and fuel efficiency. In short, this is the most powerful diesel ever produced for a GM heavy-duty pickup or chassis cab. Available now in 2500 HD and 3500 GMC Sierra® and in Chevrolet Silverado® pickups and chassis cabs.

The Duramax Diesel 6600 has exceptional power and performance. Ratings are 300 horsepower @ 3,000 rpm and 520 lb-ft of torque @1,800 rpm. It's high, flat torque curve will deliver more power across the power band than any competitor, and will help Duramax Diesel 6600-equipped GM HD pickups excel in off-the-line performance, acceleration and heavy-duty trailering and hauling.

Duramax Diesel, when combined with the Allison 1000 5-Speed automatic transmission, creates a complete Powertrain package that allows the Duramax engine to "put the power to the wheels" - creating an outstanding towing/hauling combination.
